Ladies & Gentlemen! (a) SIGN-UP. This post is a provisional sign-up for football on Sunday. Last Sunday got a thumbs up despite the cold and snow, so Ill probably go for a 17:00 kick-off (to involve as many people as possible) at the legendary Eduard Streltsov Stadium for our last (?) game of the year, before we then spend the evening in... MyBar? Juan made the point that he covered more ground in last weeks game than usual, and it was true. But how much of that increased movement was due to slipping and sliding?! :D Only joking, Juan ;) (b) Re Round 55, thank you for making it a great success. Well done to Mike Tyson Johnson for scoring a hattrick, bouncing back after his midweek red card! And a great penalty save from Colin. And well done to victorious captain, Kristen, who sustained an injury in the win... and who won with the wrong team! If you look at the earlier posts, I got the teams the wrong way round on the day! (c) A BIG THANK YOU FOR MY PRESENT!!! I was given a black Spartak Moscow shirt after the game, as a thank you present :) I will post a photo later. (The photos on the day didnt come out). Given that two of our games at the Eduard Streltsov Stadium have coincided with home matches of CSKA it occurs to me that this particular gift might be a way of instigating regime change at The Link?!!! By that I mean the chances of wearing that shirt at a CSKA Moscow home game and living to tell the tale are small!!! Do I see the subversive hand of the Director of Football? Or that of the vice-captain/Director of Hooliganism?! Or even...Et tu, Brute?... Captain Dan?! Joking aside, thank you again!!! :D (d) Thank you to Kristen, for presenting us with a new ball :) Henceforth known as the Kristen Blyth Ball! As opposed to the Dan Maloney Ball! (e) Re our football, I feel a need to re-state our/my stance that we are a team for all abilities, and that we are going to be nice to each other :) Especially with Christmas approaching! (f) Re Coca-Cola! Moldovan midfield maestro Eugene is working on another prestigious friendly! :) (g) Re Dubna, I am now corresponding directly with a team in Dubna :) But a trip there wont happen this side of Christmas. (h) Re the trophy, I will arrange for as many people as possible to keep it in their flat for a period of time. Looking at the inscription it does seem to be ours to keep :))) For the winners of the 2013 tournament! In the mean time there are plans for the trophy to go on display at Language Links Central School :D AND for a large framed photo of the team and trophy to go on (permanent) display at the same location :))) (i) Just a reminder that you can check our finances on Facebook at LOKOMOTIV LANGUAGE LINK FINANCES! (j) MAMI and MIIT! We are currently exploring the possibility of playing football indoors at these two universities. I might have some news today. (k) The parade. Still no date for the traditional cup-winners parade, but the chances of renting a marshrutka and strapping two sofas to the top seem high. The route would take us along Tverskaya, and down Lesnaya ulitsa, ending with a reception at Kroshka Kartoshka to which the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, will be invited.
