Ladies and Gentlemen...I would like to introduce to you Mr. Russell Bowman...He is 89 years young and a vibrant and delightful man...Decorated World War II Veteran...Raised 8 children and was married to his second wife for 53 years...He misses her dearly... A few times a week, this decorated war hero and outstanding family man can be found picking cans from our dumpster...Not because he is poor, but because it gives him something to do and he is full of the above mentioned vibrancy...(Still mows his own yard) He pulls the tabs off the tops and donates them to Kosairs program for that...He then crushes the cans and stores them in large black garbage bags until he has enough to take to recycling...He brags that he once took 100 bags...He saves the money up for lifes emergencies... The reason that I am telling you this is because I want us to do something nice for Mr. Bowman...Actually something BIG...I told Russell that I was going to post his information to a community group that I am a member of and asked him if he would mind if people made can donations to him...He said that you can call him and he would certainly appreciate gettiing your cans before they hit a dumpster, although hes clearly not affraid to dive for them... Russells cell number is 494-5243 and he lives on Wood Road, off Terry...He gave me permission to do this...Right before he posed for the pic... I HIGHLY encourage you to get a bag of cans and call Mr. Bowman to see when you can take them to him...I am a HUGE fan of EXTRAORDINARY MEN and getting a chance to personally meet Russell, speak to him and shake his wise old hand is worth way more the the cost of a bag of cans... IADH...I would consider it a personal favor if you folks go above and beyond, this time...I want us ALL to have a picture of Mr. Russell Bowman in front of a thousand bags of cans that he got from people who appreciate the man that he is, and the life that he has lived. Thank you. P.S...Also, I have some friends of the news media that watch this page and I speak directly to you, with this...If you guys dont snatch this guys story up, then you are just plain silly...They dont make em like this anymore...No kidding...The man is an amazing human being...
