Ladies and Gentlemen, We would like to introduce to you, our newest intake, Sir. Jasper. Jasper is an elderly cocker spaniel who was picked up as a stray by our local animal control. Jasper has suffered SEVERE neglect for a very long time. He is in end stage Congestive Heart Failure, weighs only 20lbs, his muscles have atrophied from malnutrition, he has severe tooth and gum infections, ulcerated cysts and masses, and ear infections so severe they were affecting his balance. On intake we rushed him to the vet as he was in critical condition. He recieved IV lasix to draw the fluid off of his heart and abdomen, oxygen to help him breathe, treatment for the thousands of fleas that covered his body, and 6 different medications to take home to treat his plethora of issues. We will be pushing for the owner to be found and prosecuted for this cruelty. While Jasper does not have very much time left with us, he is responding extremely well to his medications and loves to follow us around the center and dig every single toy out of the toy box to play with. He is likely happier than he has ever been in his whole life. Due to Jaspers extraordinarily short life expectancy and critical illness, he will not be available for adoption, but will live out the rest of his life at the Center. The W.H.E.
