Ladies and Gentlemen, What you have all been waiting for will finally be arriving tomorrow at JRB. Yes, the new Irish Session Stout will be on tap!!!! Here is Brewer Kelbys beautiful description and history lesson: In the 1850s, French engineer Claudius Crozet set out to build a seventeen-mile stretch of track over the Blue Ridge, aptly called: the Blue Ridge Railroad. The work involved constructing trestle over treacherously steep and rocky terrain. Hundreds of Irish immigrants were employed to build the embankments and culverts as well as blast four tunnels through the mountains. These workers were led by one of their own, Boss John Kelly. Many of these workers perished from rock-slides, cave-ins and other construction accidents. Scores more died of disease and malnutrition. This session stout is brewed to commemorate the work and sacrifice of these exploited but not forgotten pioneers in engineering, transportation and westward expansion. John Kelly’s Irish Stout is a light-bodied, easy-drinking session stout with dark roast flavors, dry malty back-bone and a mild but balancing hop profile. 4.7% ABV. 33 IBUs. Hopped with Fuggles and East Kent Golding. Come and try it in celebration of St Patricks Day!
