Ladies and gentlemen, Last night, Friday, May 2nd, Beech Grove once again proved why it is such a great community and wonderful place to both work and live. As you know, last night at 6 pm we held our Swish for Rish event in memory of BGHS freshman David Rish. It was our hope to be able to raise enough money to help Davids family with any remaining funeral expenses, and also start a scholarship fund in Davids name. If you were here Friday, then you know the evening was a slam dunk success; we had a full gym and an evening full of celebration for the life of David Rish. While we are still taking donations and do not have a total finalized, we are confident in saying that at this time we have collected over $4,500. This will give us a great starting point for the David Rish Memorial Scholarship! We want to thank everyone who attended, participated and donated. Special thanks go out to Ryan Morgan, Garret Daniel, Quinten Starks and Mark Jaynes--each of them put forth tremendous effort to make sure the event was a great success. We also want to thank our staff members that participated in the silent auction. A number of BGCS employees took home prizes, including Richard Peak, Lindsey Hall, Kali Harmon and Mike Cahill.
