Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Rhode Islanders, we have reached the end of a four-year Odyssey. The worst governor this state has had in modern times is about to depart, taking his self-graded A for the job he ludicrously thinks he did with him. With that departure, our state once again has a chance - although admittedly not the one I wanted it to have had the recent election gone differently, but still a chance, nonetheless - to finally move forward and put these difficult times behind us. Its a chance to focus on what matters, what needs to be done, and to turn words into action. Lets hope our new leaders quickly and efficiently deal with the problems our state faces, or else our future will be gloomy in perpetuity.
