Ladies, in Proverbs 31, more than one verse deals with the Virtuous Womans appearance, 21-22 specifically. While beauty is an inside job, there is no scripture against looking presentable in public. Weve ALL had bad days, but I am seeing too many ladies in public looking less than presentable. Its not all about looking good for a man, love yourself enough to look good for YOU. YOU are your best representative. You never know who you might run into; a potential client, a hiring manager, etc. Always strive to look presentable. Below are a few tips AFFORDABLE tips, because you dont have to be rich to be presentable. Feel free to add yours: 1. Teeth whitening can be expensive, but worth it. If you cannot afford a professional visit, teeth whitening gels take longer (about a week) but are much cheaper. Also, when drinking darker colored drinks (colas, teas, coffees, etc .) sip them through a straw to keep them from staining your teeth over time. DO NOT neglect flossing. Dentists will tell you that often bad breath comes from food particles stuck in between teeth for days (especially meat in your back teeth). 2. Nail polish remover. If you see that your color is chipping, dont be afraid to remove it and go bare or add a layer of clear polish. 3. Always keep mints on your person. You cant always smell your breath, but others can. 4. Travel size feminine spray. This is GREAT to keep on your person especially when visiting others or having to be in a public place. After you use the restroom, spray a little in the air of the stall you are exiting, as to leave a more pleasant scent. 5. Lip balm 6. Shoe polish and or leather wipes to clean and polish leather shoes, purses, etc. 7. Hand lotion ***Note hand lotion is different than regular body lotion. It is thicker and is especially designed for the hands as to keep them from looking dry. 8. You dont have to curl your hair everyday, but always have a go to look on days when you dont feel like the extra hoopla. Whether its a bun or a ponytail, make sure you have at least ONE go to look in the event of running late, etc. 9. Address any stains on your clothing. Yes, accidents can happen while youre out (spill drink, etc) but after you have washed your clothes, look for evidence of any unraveling of threads, snags, stains, etc and do your best to address them before wearing that item again. 10. Alterations. You can get a dress from Wal-mart or Salvation Army but as long as it fits properly, you will look like a million bucks
