Ladies lets help Heather out: Hi! Can you post this question - TopicsExpress

Ladies lets help Heather out: Hi! Can you post this question privately for me? I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16; now 32. I have the full effects of the syndrome ( high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, metabolic syndrome, etc). I just found out that my kidney function is elevated. I have been working with weight management doctors to control everything which I am but I have gained 30 since April after being able to lose 40 lbs a couple months prior. I have not changed anything in the last couple months to make me gain weight and no Im not pregnant. My weight management and family doctors are actually recommending (which they dont normally do for this) for me to have gastric bypass. I was wonder what peoples thoughts, advices, etc might be regarding this? Is there something that I should try first (keep in mind Ive tried just about everything since I was 16 but Ill try anything new at least once). I just feel as though the surgery is an easy way out or failure for me even though I know I have been doing what Im supposed to be doing for the last year and things have gotten worse. Thanks for your time and input. Its appreciated!
