Ladies n gentleman, its high time we deviate from politics n re look @ how some Kenyan towns acquired their current names. 2 start with, in limuru, a white man spreads his tealeaves 2 dry real. 3hrs latter his leaves r gone. so he shouted tea is gone the native heard something like TIGONI. n the tigoni township came into being. 30 or so kms from kitale town the railway line came 2 an end. the white man said end of base n endebess town prospered. ikolomani town means gold mine. when a whole village was forced 2 look 4 a wedding ring 4 a whole week, the place they found it was named kabete. in case u know any other town/ place that colloquially derives its name, let us know..... .
