Ladies, we need to talk about shoes. I am now an expert, because I have a prescription. Really. See, yesterday I saw a podiatrist because I have bunions, and while I don’t need surgery, I did learn some things. My podiatrist is a very petite, fashionable woman and doesn’t approve of ugly shoes. She says that all flats are bad for your feet because they don’t provide proper support, and anyway, according to her, theyre ugly. Flip-flops and high narrow heels are to be avoided, and the structural integrity of Aerosoles break down quickly, which is why those shoes that are comfy in the shop hurt two months later. On the “good for your feet” list are Franco Sarto, Mephisto, Dansko, Merrell and Clarke’s. Taryn Rose, a designer who is a former foot and ankle surgeon, also gets high marks. Crocs are actually good for your feet, and for your fashion needs, kitten heels and wedges are terrific. So are cowboy books. So, too recap: kitten heels, wedges and cowboy boots! I’m OK with this.
