Lady Wildcats Lose Conference Opener Montgomery, Al. – Bethel’s Jaylene Tye scored her fourth goal in the last two games but it was not enough as the Bethel Lady Wildcats fell to Auburn-Montgomery 2-1 in the SSAC soccer opener for both teams Sunday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama. AUM led at halftime 1-0 but Tye’s goal knotted the affair in the 62nd minute of play. Eight minutes later AUM’s Brady Glenn scored what proved to be the winning goal as her team improved to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Bethel fell to 1-4 and 0-1. Bethel’s Savana Smothers recorded six saves for the Lady Cats. AUM had eight shots on goal and limited Bethel to just four on the day. Bethel returns home to host Martin Methodist Wednesday at 1 p.m.
