Laelia sincorana .... a Brazilian miniature lithophytic or epiphytic species from dry, barren, sandstone areas at elevations around 1100 to 1500 meters where it grows on rocky ledges and on the trunks of velloizia bushes with daily dews, with a subglobose, slightly laterally compressed pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, ovate or elliptic, stiff, fleshy leaf with a rounded or somewhat emarginate apex that blooms in the winter in Brazil and spring in cultivation in the northern hemisphere, on a short to 2 2/5 [6 cm] inflorescence that has 1 to 4 flowers arising with a new growth. This species needs a very dry rest in the winter in cultivation and does best on a cork mount in a bright airy location with warm to cool temperatures....
