Laffor passed fit to face Cranes Liberia captain Anthony Laffor has been passed fit to face Uganda Cranes in this Saturday’s World Cup qualifier at Namboole in Kampala. The striker has been a worrying doubt for the Lone Star despite travelling with the team. “He is fit,” confirmed to the Media Frank Nagbe Jericho, the Liberia coach. “Anthony has been playing some football before he even joined camp. So he is fit now and will play against Uganda on Saturday.” Laffor, the Mamelodi Sundowns forward, is one of the most important players for the visitors and, together with his strike-partner Patrick Wleah, were on the score sheet as Liberia beat Uganda 2-0 in March in the first leg. “He is so important for us,” admitted midfielder Ansu Toure, one of the senior players in the Liberian team, when the Media caught up with the Lone Stars at their hotel in Kampala, adding, “He is our leader, so we are very happy he is back.” Liberia lie second in Group J with four points, one behind leaders Senegal after three games played. Angola are third on three with Uganda bottom one point behind.
