Lagos PDP primary The Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State has cleared seven aspirants for its governorship primary scheduled for December 8, 2014. Addressing journalists on Thursday in Lagos, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Gani Taofik, said the party would also hold the House of Representatives primary on December 6 while the senate primary would hold on December 7. The PDP urged its members and aspirants to participate in the exercise according to the rules and “shun the politics of vendetta.” The party said it would penalise any aspirant or group within the party caught perpetrating violence during the exercise. The governorship aspirants are Dr. Modupe Chukwuneke, Dr. Adegbola Dominic, Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Mr. Adedeji Doherty, Mr. Tokunbo Kamson and Mr. Jimi Agbaje. Mr. Ade Dosunmu had opted out of the governorship race to contest the Lagos Central Senatorial district ticket. The party also condemned the killings recorded during the All Progressives Congress Assembly primary, calling the security agencies to unmask the perpetrators of the violence. The party said, “No group or person should disguise to attack the personality of any aspirant. This is a riot act from the party. The aspirants should all sheathe their swords.”
