Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, the most successful - TopicsExpress

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, the most successful governor in Nigeria, who meets the requirements to be the next President of Nigeria, but going about town canvassing for a Gambari like Mr Buhari, who suspended the Lagos Metro Line in 1983, to be the next President of Nigeria, disclosed today at an event marking his 2,500 days in office that the Federal Government has stopped the Ilubirin Foreshore Housing Project being embarked upon by his administration. The governor said his administration had sand filled the area to build about 1,800 housing units under the Lagos Homes Ownership Mortgage Scheme, HOMS. Fashola said he was informed that the land was invaded last Saturday by Nigerian soldiers who erected a signboard that the land belonged to the Federal Government in a bid to stop the state government from developing its housing scheme on the land. In an attempt to fool gullible Yoruba voters, like the Action Congress (AC) did in 2007, forcing the Yoruba to vote for Atiku, after Obasanjo had seized the state, local government allocations, Fashola said: “The Ilubirin Foreshore land where we are about to construct our estate was taken over on Saturday by soldiers. This is what we get for giving Jonathan 1.2 million votes from Lagos.” He lamented. The governor also disclosed that on a land the government wanted to erect 48 flats at Oyingbo, some people have gone to bring Nigerian soldiers to stop the work from going on. Fashola said the people were claiming that the land belonged to the Federal Government, adding that as of now, the project has been stalled. Fashola, lamented that the state government had been receiving unfair treatment from the Federal Government, despite the fact that it gave Jonathan huge votes in 2011. He said while other states who gave President Goodluck Jonathan fewer votes were getting full ministerial positions, Lagos was only given a junior ministerial position, the position of Minister of State. This is a gimmick from Fashola to bring Jonathan to disrepute, in order for gullible Yoruba electorates to vote a Gambari as President in 2015. It will not work this time around. If indeed Lagos state and by extension the Yoruba nation had been receiving unfair treatment from the Federal Government, then the right thing for Fashola to have done, would have been to campaign for a referendum vote for the Yoruba people to decide whether to secede from Nigeria or not. He cannot accuse Jonathan of filibustering and at the same time be campaigning for the Gambari, with their history of prevaricating the Yoruba growth and development. Jonathans leadership and Gambaris presidency would not bring any substantial growth and development to Yorubaland. #OoduaRepublic is our best option. It is time for Fashola to key into this reality and stop canvassing for a Gambari Presidency.
