Lahore police arrested a guard in former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son’s motorcade who had shot dead a young motorcyclist in Block Z of Defence early on Thursday morning . Tahir Malik was riding a motorcyle with his brother, Waheed, through Defence in Lahore distributing meat among relatives when they crossed paths with the motorcade of Abdul Qadir Gilani, Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son. They exchanged hot words with one of the guards in Gilani’s motorcade following which one of the guards shot Tahir. As a result, Tahir died on the spot. Following the incident, family of the deceased boy, who was a B-Com graduate, reached the area and demanded that the police initiate legal action against Abdul Qadir Gilani and his guards. After initial investigation, Defence A Police Station registered a case against Abdul Qadir Gilani and five guards on charges of killing of the motorcylist. FIR 918/14 was lodged under section 302 PPC, section 7 of Anti Terrorist Act and 109 (abetment) on the complaint of Tahir’s father. After registering the FIR, police officials went to Gilani’s residence in Y-Block. Officials said that they could neither find the murder weapon nor Abdul Qadir Gilani. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf told The Express Tribune that SP CIA Umer Virk had been tasked to locate the former premier’s son by tracking his mobile phone. He added that police had acted according to law and registered an FIR. “We are trying to arrest the culprit.” Virk told the media that they had apprehended Gilani’s guard Muhammad Khan and have impounded his gun and the car he was travelling in. On the other hand, sources have claimed that the case was registered owing to the intervention of Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif who had taken notice of the incident. The chief minister has also sought a report from CCPO Lahore with directions to initiate actions against all those responsible. It is pertinent to mention that two years ago, Abdul Qadir Gilani’s younger brother had been abducted from Multan and is yet to be recovered According to brother of deceased, Tahir Malik was shot in head and dead instantly by guard following a quarrel near PTCL Exchange on Main Ghazi Road, Defence Lahore on Wednesday evening. Defence police said it was not yet verified if the shooter was a police guard deployed with Qadir or private guard of son of former prime minister. Police registered a case under sections 302 and 109 of the PPC and 7 ATA against Qadir and his six guards. Police said 24-year-old Malik Tahir of Wapda Town was going on a motorbike in Y Block of DHA along with his brother Waheed at the time of the incident. A murder case has been registered against Abdul Qadir Gilani—the child of Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his guards after they purportedly executed a young in the city. The gunfire incident occurred in the city region of Defense Y-Block, where two brothers, riding a motorbike, were going to disperse the conciliatory meat (Qurbani gosht) among their relatives. As reported by one private Tv Channel; after heated up argument between both the parties, Gilani’s guard got off the vehicle and opened fire on the young people that left 20-year Tahir dead on the spot. The deprived family declared the man, who opened the blaze, was Qadir Gilani’s was his personnel guard. Punjab’s Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed for the registration of the case against Gilani under homicide clauses. its sad to hear that yusuf raza gillani in his statement said that his son was having threats n it was duty of his guards to take such action n its worst to hear that qamar zaman kaira said that this case shouldnt b politicised n why cm punjab n other ministers were not arrested whereas thy are also having muder charges against them n simailar statement by sharjeel memon.they are pathetic people n it shows k ghareeb k buchay ki jan ki koi qeemat nahi,,i wish qaira n memon can also face such an incident in life n then we would ask them that what are the feelings of parents. i am sure gadir gillani will b bailed out as pmln would support him n his father in law pir sadar ud din rashdi brother of pir pagara is sitting federal minister
