Lahori Nissan dupe customers Srinagar, Dec 3, CNS: Scores of customers Wednesday accused a car dealer of cheat and deceit and alleged that the owner of Lahori Nissan demands heavy estimation charges from them. “Lahori Nissan car service centre located at Panta Chowk Srinagar duped us. We had taken our private vehicles for repairing purposes there before the floods hit Srinagar. To our surprise and dismay, the company now the company demands estimation charges for the month of September, the days when due to floods nobody was able to venture out,” said a customer from Srinagar. Another customer, Arshid Hussain Wani told CNS that he left his vehicle, ‘Datsun Go’ (JK04C 4959) a week before floods for services and repair at company’s showroom located at Sempora. “The company was supposed to deliver my vehicle to me on September 4 but it didn’t keep its word and asked me come on September 8. The floods hit Srinagar on September 7 and i was unable to report at their showroom,” Wani said. He added that due to negligence of the company, his vehicle got completely damaged at their showroom and, “instead of compensating losses the company owner demands a hefty amount (Rs 30,000) from me for ‘keeping’ my vehicle in the showroom during the days of flood furry,” he said. Other customers while narrating the same story accused Lahori Nissan of cheat and deceit and said that they were mislead and deceived. “The ‘faulty’ company is trying to extract money from its customers to compensate their losses,” they said. Managing Director Lahori Nissan, Mr Mahajan told CNS that the company will sink if it does not charge extra money from the customers. “We have already suffered huge losses due to floods and we can’t afford more losses by exempting customers from paying estimation charges,” he said.
