Lake Day Forecast for the weekend of 7/27-7/29 (Updated 2:55pm on 7/26/2014) It is time for the lake day forecast. It is the weekend before the 4th of July weekend and for some this is a start of a long summer vacation. This is the time of the year where county fairs and events are in full swing(Christian, Daviess, and Simpson counties have ongoing events this weekend or begin this weekend). Also we have our lakes and rivers. Classic summer time like weather will be in store for this weekend and into next week. Still a little far out to speculate on the weather for the 4th of July itself at this time. This classic summer time pattern will feature warm and humid conditions with the daily chance of scattered storms. The best chance of storms and best coverage will be the afternoon and early evening hours during the heat of the day because that is when the air is the most unstable. Storms will be capable of producing vivid lightning and locally heavy rain. Also very high humidity will be present and will give the air the nice classic sticky feel. The forecast looks to be similar across the entire area with high humidity and thunderstorm chances area wide on all days involved. Friday(7/27): Lake Day 3 out of 5: Humid with scattered thunderstorms. A washout is not expected but scattered storms with the greatest coverage in the afternoon and early evening hours are expected. dont cancel plans but keep an eye to the sky and dont underestimate the lightning threat. Saturday and Sunday(7/28-7/29): Lake Day 3 out of 5: Both days are pretty much a copy and paste of Friday. Humid with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and scattered thunderstorms. The best coverage being in the afternoon hours and the biggest threats being vivid lightning and locally heavy rain.
