Lance Franklin to the Swans (if the rumour is true) is nothing short of an absolute joke. Our great game is no longer played on a level playing field. How on earth do they fit Tippett & Franklin and a host of star mid-fielders into the same club with the deals they are reportedly on!! The Swans have a 9% "Living Allowance" which is quite obviously being used to lure these players to Sydney, end of story. How dare they bleat to the rest of the league that it costs so much to live in Sydney while they continue to recruit players like Tippet & Franklin to the club. It simply does not wash anymore with the average footy punter. Meanwhile, not a word from the AFL for the Lions who look like they are going to lose Polec (Pick 5), Yeo (Pick 30), Docherty (Pick 12), Longer (Pick 8) & Karnezis (Pick 25) back to their home states due to "Homesickess". These players represent our first round & second round picks from the last 2 or 3 drafts. All of our young & required talent wiped out in one foul swoop and not a peep from the AFL. Disgraceful. We are talking about a bloke (Polec) who in his draft year was rated by the Lions as the 5th best kid in the land. Same goes for Longer. You blokes at AFL headquarters have a lot to answer for!!
