Colman (Writer/Director of “In the Closet”) and his mother Florence’s cross county journey of self-discovery and the their family’s origins. Along the way he starts to notice that something is wrong with his mother’s memory and comprehension. We then see the story of the ensuing fall out, and life changing events that are deep and thought-provoking and highly educational. Mama & Me is an honest, endearing and sometimes funny look at the challenges that Coleman faces, when he learns that his mother has developed dementia and has to face this condition head on. This timely story is a personal journey that spotlights a condition that increasingly faces millions of baby-boomers and subsequently, their children in what is an ongoing epidemic that that the populace just isn’t fully educated on. Although this is a personal story it calls the much needed attention of a new way to understand the human brain when it enters an older stage in life and can be used to inform the masses. Coleman’s experiences exposes the common misconceptions of senility, and educates the audiences in what is not an isolated event, but should be viewed more of an epidem
