Lantana was reputedly introduced to NSW by Major Archibald Innes the Police Magistrate of Port Macquarie in the 1830s - presumably for his garden at Lake Innes. Its an ecological disaster in many ways but provides small birds and honeyeaters with an urban haven as larger birds like currawongs dominate.
