Larry Hogans company, Hogan Realty Capital, is involved in something that doesnt sound right here. It is very interesting that the article never refers to Larry Hogan, the candidate for Governor. I am going to look into this but for now, Ill let the comment from a resident of Adamstown speak for itself. The planning commission proposed in APRIL that this PUD would allow for no more than 35 residential dwelling units (and thats a lot for 10 acres), would maintain a minimum of 3.05 CONTIGUOUS acres of green space surrounding the existing pavilion and would PROHIBIT an interconnecting street network to Tuscarora, Adams and Washington Streets. The BOCC (some of whom were on the planning commission) pretty much ignored the recommendations that were made then. What they voted on last night was for 1.5 acres surrounding the pavilion to remain green space; increase the number of dwelling units and pass the buck on the inter connectivity. (Young, Shreve and Delauter voted for this proposal. Gray and Smith voted against). Anyone who has ever been to Adamstown knows the streets cannot support more traffic and that the 100 year old homes and properties are incompatible to widening and improving. Adamstown is not alone in this fight. Hogan is now looking to develop property in Buckeystown. As I said last night and reiterate now, this should serve as a signal to the citizens of Frederick County that Hogan Reality, the Hogan family, and the BOCC are working together toward the destruction of small town America.
