Larry Rouse made the following spiritually based observation on a politically based thread on my wall. I think he is spot on and that the comment deserves highlighting. Larry writes... My concern is for some preachers who have changed their doctrinal views on authority and even the plan of salvation that refuse to openly teach what they believe. As an example when asked numerous questions about the purpose of baptism, there is a refusal to give a plain answer! In the political article the key quote is: “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage.” So it has been for subversive teachers throughout the years who will secretly bring in destructive heresies. (2 Peter 2:1) I believe this is plain dishonesty. Let us follow Jesus and be honest in expressing what we believe! Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing. - (John 18:20) ***************************** I will add, Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves (Matt. 7:15).
