Las Vegas Policeman Receives Medal of Valor The Medal of Valor is reserved for extraordinary acts of heroism, which extend far above and beyond the normal call of duty or service and is performed at great risk to personal safety in an effort to save human life. It was the early morning hours... inside a local Walmart store that Metro officers arrived to question a suspected credit card thief and his female companion. Little did they know, that the male suspect had more than fraud on his mind. He was armed with a gun, and had a full-body tattoo with a haunting image of hatred, depicting a Metro police officer in a choke-hold. Not only did our officers risk their lives, but they protected the employees and citizens inside Walmart. Their actions won the acclaimed Top Cop award in Washington D.C. With our deepest gratitude, we present the following officers with the Medal of Valor: Officer John Abel Officer Beaumont Hopson Officer Corey Staheli Officer David Williams Officer Ramirez, during the gunfight, you were struck in the left upper arm and in the chest. After being fired at, you still continued to return fire and performed your duty as a police officer. We present Officer Michael Ramirez with the Purple Heart and the Medal of Valor. youtu.be/RiBM4d6-HP8
