Last 2014 Winter Olympics post- fun facts about the medal counts: - 23 of the 24 medals won by Netherlands were won in speed skating - The 24th was won in... short track speed skating - The next closest countries in speed skating only won 3 medals each - The Netherlands swept FOUR podiums in speed skating - Canada swept the golds in curling (Ha!) - The 6 curling medals were won by the same 3 countries - Italy won the most medals (8) without winning a gold - Per capita, Norway, Slovenia, & Austria won the most medals (source: The Atlantic) - Per 10 competitors, Netherlands won 5.85 medals DOMINATING everyone else. 2nd was Belarus with 2.5.
