Last Bayou - Written by Cattink 27.04.14 His father cut the engine of the boat. This was where wed all leave him, swirling in the river of this godforsaken, humid marsh. Thankfully Id avoided the task of holding the urn. I didnt want that to be the last time Id ever hold him. It never happens how we expect, does it? Life goes on until we find its gone. We reschedule our hopes and dreams until weve overdrawn the days they could have filled. He always wanted to be a writer, and now those manuscripts in his drawer will never know how they end because the conventional wisdom of gaining an accounting degree managed to speak louder. He asked too many damn questions. Then again, so did I. So do I. Its easier than trying to be brave.
