Last Friday Melissa Cebollero with Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.s office visited our #WakefieldCampus to present a proclamation recognizing our efforts to educate patients, the community and our employees about the benefits of #breastfeeding. At Montefiore, we: 1) Spread the word about breastfeeding before and after delivery to help new moms make the choice that is right for them. 2) Never distribute formula unless it has been requested. 3) Make trained breastfeeding experts available so mothers can discuss their concerns. 4) Let new moms know they have the right to indicate that bottles and pacifiers are not to be used with their baby while in the hospital.
