Last Night on Bourbon street, Friday November 15, 2013 Last night was a very good night for sharing the gospel on the street. Most people were listening and most were respectful. I handed out a lot of tracts. We are not the only people handing out tracts. The strip clubs send girls out handing out free passes for men to come in. I was handing out a tract which has a question, IS JESUS CHRIST YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR? While I was handing them out, and many were taking them, a girl came up beside me handing out strip club free passes. She gave one to a man and he threw it on the ground! Maybe he was listening to Brother Paul as he shared the gospel? It was good to see that thrown on the ground instead of a gospel tract. I didnt see any of the tracts that I handed out thrown on the ground. That is unusual. Thank the Lord! When I preached I spoke from Isaiah 55 about seeking the Lord while HE may be found, I preached that God provided a sacrifice Himself for our sins and only CHRIST can save us. We will not be saved by our own good deeds, or church membership, or religion, although God commands Christians to not forsake the assembling together of the saints. We can only be saved through repentance and faith in the person of CHRIST alone and what HE has done for us. Faith always implies repentance as well. They are together. There will also come a time when God will not be found. If we die without CHRIST we will be like the rich man, JESUS told about, who is in torment and can never get out forever. So turn now to JESUS and be saved. It is not His will that any perish but all come to repentance. As I was speaking a young lady come up and said, Thank you for what you are doing. It was good to hear that for a change. Some street fellows came up and asked for money. I gave them a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter instead. Later a couple of them began to harass Bro. David Johnson as I spoke to the passing crowd. I went to the young man and asked him to stop, reminding him that we gave them some food. He told me that he was an angel. I reminded him that there are angels of God and of satan as well and he needed to stop resisting God. While Bro. David was speaking there was a young man over on the sidewalk who was really listening. I went over to him and talked with him. He was very open. I could see that he had Christian influence in his life. Later I got into a conversation with another young man, who had been drinking. He was from Florida and with either his girl friend or wife. He wanted to discuss the Christian faith. I asked him if he had accepted Christ? He asked me what had caused me to believe, so I shared with him my testimony. He was very open and listening but argued a bit on some points. Today youth have been taught pluralism and to doubt the Bible. This is one of the major reasons why America is in the mess that it is in. Pray that the Lord will draw these young men and women to a complete surrender of their lives to CHRIST. Bro. Sam Waddell
