Last Poet Standing is back in #KC and at a new venue! The game has changed! New and hungry poets are out here and ripping up stages! Come and earn some stripes and bragging rights! TEN poets! ONE stage! ONE champ! Winners and runner ups are eligible to compete in the September LPS for $500! #LPS is a #poetryslam mixed with a touch of #RapBattle. Names are randomly selected and the poet drawn must call out another poet by saying: MY NAME IS ______, AND MY POETRY IS HOTTER THAN ____(other unsuspecting poet)_____!!! They each spit an up to 3:10 original poem without props or instrumentation. Judges hold up a 1 or a 2 for the piece they likes the best. Poet with the most votes stays...the other poet goes bye bye. Its a grand ole time! Theres a short open mic and poetry feature prior to the competition! Seating is VERY limited, so arrive early and BYOB!
