Last Sunday I visited the home of one of our survivor partners in Taclob. Meet Felipa and her family. They live in that area in Tacloban callled Anibong where the big boats where washed by the houses. To this day they still live there. Why are they not transferring? Why are not leaving these no build zone areas? Why are they still exposing themselves to danger? Because the alternative given by the government is for them to transfer to a re-settlement area which to this day have no electricity, hardly any crs and definitely zero livelihood opportunities and costs an arm and a leg to get to and from the city. This is the crux of the problem in these disaster stricken areas and with Typhoon Haiyan Survivors. And because they are now considered informal settlers without papers they will not be afforded the benefits that NGOs and Government Agencies are offering. We need livelihood in Tacloban... Especially for those being offered to transfer in re-settlement areas. Taclob is doing its small little part in offering livelihood especially to those that fall between the cracks of major institutions. Thank you for continuing to believe and support us. #getcompassion #givecourage #wegotyourback
