Last Sunday, July 27, was one of the highlights of 2014 for me. I finally got to meet some of the amazing mothers Ive been talking to, following, and/or admiring online over the last few years, as well as other amazing mothers who I just met that weekend. They are all mothers who have walked in similar shoes as I have, and it truly felt like getting together with old friends. What a gift! To be together with these women as a group was inspiring and powerful. With mothers like these fighting to honor the kids currently battling cancer, in memory of the kids whose lives have been cut way too short by cancer, and in defense of those kids who have yet to be diagnosed, plus the doctors and researchers who benefit from the funds raised, I believe childhood cancer will be defeated. I want to say THANK YOU to some important people who helped make this experience so amazing... •My husband Bill and our kids, for supporting my decision to shave even if they didnt understand it. •The leadership team, who planned and executed the whole event: Maisy Yeager, Monica Marcelis Fochtman, Courtney Hunt Moore, Rebekah Ham, Alyson Rich Weissman... you all did an amazing job!! Even my husband noticed how organized everything was! Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into planning the whole weekend! •Each and every person who has donated to St. Baldricks through my fundraising page.
