Last Sunday Nancy along with her daughter Suzanne were in - TopicsExpress

Last Sunday Nancy along with her daughter Suzanne were in Cincinnati visiting with Nancys sister who has cancer. My mom and I first worshipped at Asbury UMC (just blocks down from her retirement center on the same street) at their 9:00 Traditional service. Then we got in the car and headed south to Leawood to worship at CORE (Church of the Resurrection: so many words no one in KC every says anything but CORE). We got there between their earlier service and their 10:45 worship service (of which they have two: one in an auditorium that seats about 2000 or more, and then a simultaneous one with contemporary music where the sermon presentation is sent next door, but it only seats about 450). While we were wandering around in their narthex (pictured) we were approached and visited with the minister who was doing the prayers for the 10:45 service. Then for almost 2 minutes Adam Hamilton stopped and visited with us (pictured), the senior minister and probably the most famous and well-known United Methodist since Wesley. Everyone had been encouraged to wear blue or their Royals wear since the 3rd game playoff was here that afternoon. The congregation was encouraged to yell Go Royals as loud as they could; and all services videos of that segment were being sent to the Royals. Awesome!
