Last Thursday I had to have my cat Jagger put to sleep. Well I - TopicsExpress

Last Thursday I had to have my cat Jagger put to sleep. Well I didn’t take him because I couldn’t so my sister did it for me. Tomorrow, one week later, I have to have another precious pet put to sleep. This one is Queen, but we call her Queenie. She belonged to my niece, Chrissy, who we lost in 2009. Kenny and I took her in 2006. Now she has stopped eating, not able to groom herself, and has lost about 5 pounds in a few days time. But like a typical cat, she has never showed her pain. Just so loving and wants to be as close to me as she can get and that breaks my heart. At the same time, it warms my heart when I think about how much she loved Kenny. When we first took her in, Kenny is the only one she would have anything to do with. As soon as he sat down she would be right up in his lap, wanting to lay on his chest. He had such a way with animals. This has been a difficult and final decision to make but I love her too much for her to suffer. I also think about Ashton, who also loves her and looks for her first thing every time she comes to my house. It broke her heart when we finally had to tell her about Jagger. My sister Shirley showed her where Jagger was buried and she just cried and cried. I know she will do the same thing with Queenie. It hurts so much to lose a beloved pet. This is the hardest part about having them. Having to say goodbye too soon! But then later on, you think about the joy and love they bring! This is just what’s on my mind today. Dreading tomorrow! So tonight for the last time I’m just gonna sit and hold her and pet her and talk to her so she will know how much she is loved!
