Last Thursday marked the first march and rally for Cinema Workers. Called by our union BECTU we marched from the BFI, through the West End of London to City Hall. En route we marched through Leicester Square and chanted Cinema Workers left and right, unionise and join our fight! and stopped off at the Head Offices of both Picturehouse Cinemas and Curzon Cinemas to send a clear message to both companies that we demand our basic right to a living wage. We were joined by workers from Curzon Workers Party - CWP, BFI Southbank, BFI IMAX, Cineworld, Odeon and more besides. Our movement is growing! At the end of the march we held a rally outside City Hall with the incredible Ken Loach speaking about his admiration for our struggle and determination not to give up. We also heard from Fiona Twycross from the GLA Labour group, Equity, BFAWU and of course our own union. All in all, another fantastic day.
