Last Week Tonight with John Oliver did an excellent job calling out what the state lotteries really are: a way to defund public schools and give huge tax breaks to corporate campaign donors. I have been thinking for your that the goal is to actually destroy public education (more starve the beast not actual public policy decisions) and limit charter school public education to certain income levels in certain neighbors with certain demographics. This is the way they flush Brown v. US and the American Disability Act as it applied to the disabled and education. There are no increases, in fact in several states there are actual decreases, in education budgets thanks to the canard of lotto revenues. It is the ultimate rob Peter to rob Paul system in America today. Think about it.
