Last batch of showers of rain/snow moving through. Cold boring week ahead - No Snow in sight. Then we warm up for a bit. Hows that for everything in a nutshell through the next few weeks. This mornings system has moved out and on its heels is a cold front with some showers of rain and snow that will move through during the next few hours. Things will be uneventful the remainder of the week with cold conditions and primarily dry. The pattern will relax and with the Pacific Jet really taking over late in the week and locking the cold up in Canada, we will see a warm up for the weekend into next week with temps in the 40s on average for highs and maybe even touch 50 a day or 2. Unfortunately, there are no real snow threats for the foreseeable future gang. In my younger days, this would be the kind of winter you wish would just end already so we could move on to the spring. Trust me Chris and I are not winter fans, however this page grew leaps and bound because of the winter flock that ate, slept and lived for snowstorms. Our snowfall numbers are definitely well behind what we thought would be as i am sure most forecasters are as well. The weather has its own mind and no matter what your credentials are in this business, she will dictate what it will do in the end and not what the signals think it will do. Now winter is not over yet folks. Can we salvage the end of January and February? Maybe. But the way things have been going this winter it certainly does not look to favorable my friends. :-( In the meantime, watch out for rapid freeze ups later on as the temps sink below freezing and any standing water will freeze solid.
