Last day to be a stay at home mommy! I cant help but feel extremely sad!! I remember when I first started this gig , I hated it. Isaiah was a newborn, Brittney 1, Domonic 2, anna grace 3 , Jordan 5 , Brianna n Anthony 7, Kim 9. I always loved working outside of the home. so it was hard for me at first. But as the years have passed, Ive grown to deeply love it. It has been awesome to watch each child grow into their own personalities. Some lessons I learned along the way: 1. Laundry is your worst enemy in a big family. It never gets easier. U r never caught up even when your baskets are empty. There is always dirty laundry lurking underneath a kids bed. You will never find that match to the sock so quit looking. In a big family, The kids will never learn whose is whose nor will the husband so your best bet is to do your laundry yourself. 2. Ive learned that any notes of my children left out on the floor when Im cleaning are fair game even if I accidentally knock them over while cleaning. This has helped gain great knowledge at times. 3. Best part of this gig is going to eat lunch with my kids. Love to see their faces brighten up as I walk into their view. 4. Realizing that my house doesnt have to be perfect. The expectation n pressure of a perfectly clean house is overwhelming at times so its nice to just relax n do what u can. 5. Savor every moment of a childs life. They grow so quickly. Watching Kimberly pack those boxes to move to her new apartment help me to realize how quickly life moves . It was heart wrenching. So enjoy your kids , love your kids, cause it just goes by so quickly. 6. Laugh a lot. Be crazy. Dance a little . Embarrass the kids. Embarrass yourself. Put a little life into your home. Kids long for this. (Even if they dont admit it.) 7. Love and adore your husband. Appreciate him for allowing you to get the privilege of staying at home. 8. A dog can really be a best friend. Shout out to my dog lady. 9. Find God in your day. Whether it is taking a walk on a beautiful day or listening to worship music. Seek Him n love Him 10. Best way to end my stay at home mommy career is to cuddle in bed with the baby of the family. Isaiah is such a sweetie. He kept begging me to stay. Lastly I just want to thank my best friend Kristi Ballard Martin. You have made this career so much fun. Thanks for always texting me n keeping me laughing. You have always been a shining light to me. And then to each one of my kids: you are the best kids a mommy can ask for! Love u to the moon n back! You have made this job exciting n fun!! Next Raymond Dunaway, all I can say is thank you for always being our sole provider. You are a hard worker and just always sacrifice yourself to make ends meet. I appreciate u more than ever. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift you could ever give me, the title of stay at home mommy. I love you! I will miss my quiet home, my naps, my dog, my freedom to do whatever. But Im super excited to work for the galena school system on a daily basis. Cant wait to love on those little kids n help make their day a lil brighter!!
