Sunday 26th October 2014 On this day in 1881 the gunfight at the OK Corral, the most infamous shoot-out in the history of the Wild West took place in Tombstone, Arizona Canapés Served in the Drawing Rooms Arran Blue Cheese and Pistachio Pannacotta with a Spiced Pear and Walnut Biscuits A rich pannacotta made with Arran blue cheese from our award-winning local cheesemaker and served with a pear poached in spiced red wine together with delicate walnut biscuits and a salad of home grown garden leaves with a sweet pear dressing Served with home baked bread. Tonights choices are Black Olive and Basil Rolls or Thyme and Orange Granary Loaf followed by Blue Velvet Soup A light cream soup made with red cabbage and fresh Arran cream subtly spiced with caraway and nutmeg and served with parmesan and raspberry salt shortbread Fillet of Pork with Prunes and Cranberries Fillet of prime Scottish pork roasted in bacon with a prune and cranberry stuffing and served on fennel braised in pernod and vermouth together with Arran mustard mash, red pepper marmalade and a port wine cream sauce accompanied by seasonal vegetables followed by Chestnut, Orange and Chocolate Torte served with Amaretto and Pistachio Semifreddo What could be more seasonal than chestnuts?
