Last evening as we walked through the city on an absolutely gorgeous night with a pink sky overhead, we met up with shopkeepers/artists and others we got to know by walking by them every day, one of whom offered us a glass of wine. One of our friends bought some beautiful handmade ceramic from the artist and now he is our friend. He is having a show outside the library on Sunday which Ill attend and take pictures. Thanks Debi! The other man is a psychiatrist whom we met the very first day we were here. Doctore Nazareno, aka Reno, is very friendly, a real character, and also an Abruzzi, like my family. He may be trying to analyze us but I think his analyses is lost in translation. He tries to teach us Italian every time we see him. Renata owns one of the many pottery stores on the way to the Duomo and stands outside her shop every morning waiting for customers. I was able to ask her her name and tell her mine using the simple Italian that that dog taught me. We also ran into Toni DeBella whose appearance on HGTV inspired me to make this journey to Orvieto. Didnt have my camera ready when we saw her. The other pictures show a typical Sunday night with children playing and men and women engaged in animated conversation, always.
