Last evening attended Salt Lake Music Festival, Kolkata. The second event was Vocal by MsRageshri Das. In the year of 1986,13 march Rageshri born in the musical family in Burdwan. Her father Sri Purnendu Das is deciple of Pt. Mahadev Prasad Mishra ( Sangit acharya of the eminent Banaras Gharana ), and also deciple of Sri Nishakar Mallik ( Sangit Visarad,Lakhnow ). Her mother is also a beautiful singer. Rageshri started learning Indian Classical Music from the age of 3 from her father. 1993 she passed A.I.R. in the category of ‘ Shishu Mahal ’ in Khayal and Bhajan in the age of 6. She is an extra-ordinary singer with so many awards in her credit. Her voice is very sweet and has got a very beautiful range. In my opinion, her speciality is in Thumri. She was accompanied in tabla by Sri Mihir Kundu and in harmonium by Sri Pradip Palit. Both of them are well experienced and made her presentation excellent. Rageshri started with raag Maru Bihag end ended her programme with a Thumri. In her presentation she proved herself that she is really an extra-ordinary talent.
