Last month I was visiting my parents in South Australia. My dad has been having major spinal issues and for the last few years has been in constant pain and has had no feeling from the waist down. Although he was still able to walk, he could only take about ten paces before he had to rest, or he would collapse. He had surgery to grind down the bones in his lower spine to take the pressure off his spinal cord which was causing this problem. Post surgery things did not go so well and on the Sunday night (4 days post surgery) prior to us leaving Adelaide I was told he would not be going home as he was initially expecting on the Monday because he couldnt walk to the bathroom and back unassisted and was in terrible pain so he wasnt in any way ready to. That night I posted a prayer request for him on the RCI effectual fervent prayer page on Facebook and on the Monday headed in to the hospital to visit him, only to be rung by my mother and told not to go in as he was heading home now. Apparently overnight he improved dramatically and was able to walk unassisted. Praise God. This was a few weeks ago. On Monday this past week, I was speaking to him and asked how he was going. He told me that now he is completely pain free. I know that even though he doesnt want to acknowledge the Lord, the prayer of the righteous works. The Lord heard our prayers and answered. According to the doctors because the damage was so bad and he had suffered for so long, the chances of this surgery working was minimal. I know without a doubt it is only because of God that he has attained this great outcome.
