Last night 7/24/14 at the end of 40 days Sarvagata Ukrainskyi had 2786 miles complete, leaving him with 314 miles to go……. Yep, one more Last Annual Vol State Road Race. At his current pace of 69.8 miles per day he will finish in less than 5 days. Think about it… his final 314 miles will be a credible LAVS performance by any standard. Granted we are crewed, catered to, even coddled, but the fact remains the miles must be run. This has been one of many incredible performances to watch! Another incredible performance is that of women’s leader Sara Barnett who is averaging almost 100K each day. Curiously, at the completion of day 40 she had run 2472 miles leaving her 628 miles to run….. a double Volstate. When I “turned around” for my double Proxy LAVS John Price told me the record for a double is 14 days and some hours. IT appears Sarah will finish her final “double” in around 11 days.
