Last night, As I was about to step into Churchgate station, I saw and heard a drunk man - abusing every passerby, I looked up at him and he then started abusing me, so I called out to a policeman nearby and loudly asked him to stop the drunk from abusing all the passersby, including women.A nearby, one-armed old man, a beggar,who was also sitting on the steps ,told me to "shut up and mind my own business", so I again complained to the policeman, that this other guy was also abusing me, so the polcemen, did their job and told both men to move away and stop abusing.Sadly, not a single man came to my defence, nor did anyone try to stop these abusive men at Churchgate station.An off-duty policeman said he wanted to whack these drunks, but he was afraid that public would do a video-recording of the scene and then he would lose his job.he said the problem today is that public have the power - to misuse their rights and privileges to attack women and other fellow human beings.
