Last night, Ashley Judd, Kappa Kappa Gamma Beta Chi Chapter, was the keynote speaker at The Womens Fund of Central Ohio event in Columbus, Ohio. Local Kappas and members of Headquarters staff were in attendance to hear the powerful words of social change and female empowerment. We are peace, we are war, we are how we treat each other and nothing more. Ashley was delightful, funny and gave a handful of shout-outs to Kappas, including a woman she met at the Kappa house in Kentucky, her godmother and a Kappa who gave her a prayer she still uses today. We are still chuckling about her comment on how to handle selfishness, I may not be much, but I am always on MY mind! Though Ashley said she wouldn’t presume to give advice, she reminded all women to support one another and to never be afraid to ask for help. She also mentioned that women need to sometimes stop and realize they are good enough and in any small positive action they are making a difference. “What struck me most about Ashley Judd was how she is truly genuine and can make you feel as if you are present in the struggle. She has great faith that guides her in working to make a difference, and she expressed this so eloquently that it left me wanting to learn more and inspired to do more.” Thank you to The Womens Fund of Central Ohio and Ashley Judd for an amazing evening!
