Last night, BCFD held an award ceremony honoring members with life-saving awards for EMS calls and two structure fires. Members, along with special guests and family members, attended the event where 9 EMS calls that resulted in 9 civilian lives being saved due to the care provided by the department. We also awarded members who rescued 2 trapped victims in separate structure fires. One of the fire saves was recognized by a representative from Bullard, Inc., the manufacturer of the thermal imaging cameras used by BCFD. They have a program titled the Bullard Save-A-Life Club that 4 of our members were inducted into. Captains Tory Bienvenu and Cody Hebert and Engineers Kurt Detillier and Brandon Jackson were each awarded a framed medal and ribbon along with a certificate. We are very proud of the job these guys did and thank them for their efforts, said Fire Chief Ken Himel. Lastly, 15 members were given certificates for various promotions and appointments.
