Last night Bellway Homes posted a leafet through our door outlining its plans to build a new housing estate on land off Ways Green stretching right down to the river and holiday park. If this goes ahead we can effectively say bye bye to the flashes - the estate being built right now in the same area is already a huge eyesore looking up at it from the river and thats only a small development compared to these plans, which include 243 new homes. Im all for new developments in the town but in the right places - plenty of brownfield sights lying around the town crying out for it. However, once again Winsford is being made to pay the price and undoubtedly we are about to lose one of the towns most beautiful assets forever.
