Last night Beth and I attended a work function and I had one of the best nights ever. From what I can surmise heres why: 1. When I walked in I was handed a glass of champagne...really good champagne. 2. A wonderful hostess picked a fabulous menu and then great food and wine just kept arriving at the right intervals. 3. Dessert was a cheese board and/or chocolate cake: everyone but complete food freaks could be happy. 4. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt and at one point I got light-headed. 5. Our tables conversation ranged from the ridiculous to the relevant to the real. And I got to debunk some really bad theology around divorce. Score! See? Im not completely anti-social. I just need certain elements to be present.
