Last night Bud Donovan had a beautiful send off at St.Judes Church in Oakville. Bud once told me that he was afraid there would be nobody left to attend his funeral because all of his friends had gone before him. Bud wouldnt have been disappointed though. It was a packed church comprised of friends and family and also his extended family, the Oakville Buzz Junior B Lacrosse Club. At the reception afterward, the executive did a quiet presentation to Bruce Donovan who represented the Donovan clan. An award was created in Buds name for dedication and spirit to the lacrosse community. Bud was instrumental in raising money and awareness for the support of the Ian Anderson House through co-operation/participation with the Oakville Buzz over the years. It will be tough to find another volunteer of Buds caliber but we are hoping that someone will step up and help build the Buzz program which has developed many a young man since 2000. Looking forward to parents on the Buzz to do their part in 2015. Bud will be watching.
