Last night, Chief McDonnell was proud to attend a benefit for the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team (sdmrt). This group of extraordinary people is one of eight volunteer search and rescue teams serving the citizens of Los Angeles County, as their motto says: Anytime. Anywhere. So others may live. The San Dimas team (which is comprised of reserve deputy sheriffs and civilian volunteers) has been deployed over 70 times so far during 2014, with the eight teams countywide having been activated over 300 times so far this year. They save countless lives every year and are a tremendous asset to the citizens of Los Angeles County.
