Last night, Gail Lavielle and Keith Rodgerson, candidates for State Rep., met in a debate, more of a polite turn-taking than a back-and-forth match. Lavielle drew on her more extensive legislative and government experience, while Rodgerson held his own articulating where he and Lavielle differ. Rodgerson referred to Lavielle obliquely as our legislator when critiquing her, and Lavielle tended to politely school Rodgerson on how things happen in Hartford. Only toward the end, Rodgerson aimed a more direct charge about outside interests influencing my legislator that inspired a sharp Lavielle response.
